Our Cabinet Building Process
Step 1:
It starts with a video call; we get to know you and you get to know us. We talk about your pain points in your existing kitchen, dream about what you want and discuss your needs verse wishes! We will also cover budgets and timeframes during this meeting. If you feel like we are a good fit for your project we will schedule an in-home consultation for your home.
Step 2:
Once at your home, we will spend 60 minutes getting to know each other better. We will hear what you have in mind, give some advice, and talk through your goals, desires, and any fears you may have regarding the project. We won’t get into the small details, but we will talk about your vision on a higher level. We will discuss the feasibility of your ideal budget range. While we won’t know the exact cost of your project at this point, starting this discussion and talking about some practical numbers will go a long way in helping our team direct you in the best way forward. Inevitably, you will have lots of questions for us and we will leave time to answer those. We will also talk over our process and the next steps. If you wish to move forward, we will schedule our first design meeting from this visit.
We will schedule a meeting to meet our team, go over some pallet selections, basic layout, and a 3D drawing. We provide these details by executing a Discovery Agreement.
This is a typical step where we spend time talking about the budget and going over details and finding out exactly what you want to have happen in your home.
Typical next step is a design agreement to narrow down selections and budget costs and we will then proceed
Step 3:
Once you sign the Authorization to Proceed form, you are automatically added to our project schedule. One of our designers or project managers will reach out to you to discuss your project and upcoming schedule.
Step 4:
The following selection information will be decided upon:
Wood species
Stain and/or paint color
Cabinet style and door style
Drawer box style
Components/accessories such as roll out shelves, trash roll out, spice insert, utensil organizer, knife holder, corbels, etc.
Stone/quartz color and edge profile
Appliance and sink specs, if applicable
Step 5:
After the preliminary design and selections are complete, one of our project managers will schedule a field measure, draw your cabinetry in our 3-dimensional CAD software and answer any questions you have.
Step 6:
CAD drawings will be emailed to you via Adobe Sign for your approval. The first set of drawings and 1 set of revisions are included in your pricing. If additional revisions are needed, the cost will be $85/hour.
Step 7:
After you approve the drawings, our estimators will use the final drawings to update the pricing, if necessary and send you the contract via Adobe Sign for your approval.
Step 8:
Payment schedule is as follows:
A down payment of 1/2 of the contract is due before we cut your cabinets (typically paid when field measure is done).
The remaining 1/2 is due upon delivery/installation of cabinets.
If stone/quartz tops are included in your project, you will receive the invoice for the counter tops after they are installed.
Step 9:
Depending on the size of your project, after drawings are approved, a typical 6 to 12 week construction period can be expected.
